Amelia Gray Vogue Mexico June 2024

Given that Emmanuelle Alt’s Vogue Paris is no longer, it seems Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin have subsequently set up shop with Karla Martínez de Salas at Vogue Mexico. In 2023, the Dutch photographic duo were called upon to capture Irina Shayk and Anna Ewers as Vogue Mexico cover girls. More recently, back in March, the creative twosome turned the lens toward Christy Turlington, Angelina Kendall, Mahany Pery (and others) for a series of celebratory and collectable covers. Amelia Gray and Mathilda Gvarliani are the latest to pose for I&V on Vogue Mexico and Vogue Latin America for June 2024. In the Mexican Vogue cover photograph (below), Amelia takes to the wrestling ring wearing Louis Vuitton while for the Latin America counterpart (after the jump), Mathilda is dressed by stylist Valentina Collado in archival Jean Paul Gaultier.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Both are terrible. The concept of Lucha Libre within the Mexican culture is a good idea. However, the covers are awful,” shrieked Alejandra Isami.

“Love the idea, hate the execution. All looks so amateur and beneath I&V,” Xone chimed in.

“I don’t know where to point the blame,” added marsnoop2. “Imagine back in the day how many countless editorials were cancelled for far less egregious reasons!”

Mikel pointed out: “I like it when I&V are going back to a cut and paste style. But without M/M Paris involved it looks really weak.”

Also far from impressed was aracic. “This looks utterly cheap and horrid and I can’t believe that it is produced by the same people who once used to create magic together,” he critiqued.

“I thoroughly despise collage covers. I’ve never seen a good one, and the bad ones are worse than awful,” shared forum member tigerrouge.
