To say Chioma Nnadi got off to a rocky start as Edward Enninful‘s replacement at British Vogue would be an understatement. An understatement of epic proportions. Now officially four whole issues into her tenure at the British fashion bible, covers with FKA Twigs, Zendaya and Sophie Turner have flopped HARD over recent months. There’s zero signs improvement, with the unveiling of the July 2024 cover(s) neither. Nnadi attempts to blend “style” and “sound” by welcoming Mona Tougaard and Central Cee as cover stars. Shot by photographer Alasdair McLellan and styled by Kate Phelan, the Danish model is decked out in a Chanel denim jacket and her own jeans while the British rapper poses alongside the current face of Versace and Balenciaga in a rollneck sweater from Balmain and track pants from Chrome Hearts. Central Cee then goes solo on the second alternative cover (after the jump).

“They look like two strangers who’ve been interrupted mid-argument,” shared WinstonH20 at once. “I initially wanted to say ‘couple’ but realized even fighting couples have more chemistry than this!”
“A photo that’s a long way from working as a cover shot,” cried out tigerrouge.
“I keep thinking of the amount of money these people are getting to produce this level of work. Crazy,” ranted a disapproving Marc10.
Also far from impressed was mikel, commenting: “British Vogue‘s overs pairing a model with a musician used to be so fun during Alexandra Shulman’s reign. This is just depressing.”
“What is the point of Vogue when Vogue is trying to be i-D Magazine, as is the case here? This cover makes very little sense to me,” NYLA22 stated.
“Abysmal. Absolutely abysmal,” voiced vogue28. “There’s a huge disconnect between Mona Tougaard and Central Cee here, almost as if they were photographed at different times. No charm, no charisma, no chemistry, no nothing… just another total non-event of a cover from Chioma Nnadi.”
Helmutnotdead went as far as to describe the outcome “tragic” and we couldn’t possibly disagree.
